David the usual blogger at AltSciFi recommend I dip my foot into the SciFi waters by watching Wrath Of Khan. I did, and here's what I thought:
Sent you an e-mail to try to feel out what kind of movies you are interested in, and I should be able to find one that fits well with the type of things you like. :)

Yes, the plot is simple, but its classic. KHAAAAN!!! I am not offended that you didn't really like it, and actually, I should have started you off on something more modern, but people always tell me that getting a good appreciation of the classics is key. Was this your first experience with Star Trek? If so, then you probably should have seen some of the original Star Trek so you would be more familiar with the characters. That might have helped.. or not.

I'd seen bits and pieces of star trek before but the first time I had sit down to watch anything star trek from front to back.
