Fifth and Sixth Terminator Movies?

terminator-salvation-bale Fifth and Sixth Terminator Movies?

As some of you might have already heard, the fourth installment of the Terminator franchise, Terminator: Salvation is actually the start of a new trilogy, and the director is already planning out the fifth movie.

Christian Bale has signed on in the role of John Connor for all three films in the newly planned trilogy. They were expecting to have to wait until seeing how the fourth film did in the theatre, but the studios are encouraged by the buzz the film is getting and has given a green light for them to start on the next installment.

This means, we might get a Terminator movie every one or two years over the next while. My biggest concern is that we will be treated to a “to be continued…” style ending at the end of the upcoming fourth movie, but the Terminator franchise has been good at encapsulating stories before, hopefully these new films are no different.

I will be excited to see how everything goes, and what this continued John Connor role will do for Christian Bale’s Batman opportunities. Will we end up getting sick of seeing this actor everywhere?

I would hate for them to be anything other than a true trilogy, i.e. each with a start and an end, but I am really looking forward to them. I don’t think I would have chosen Christian Bale myself, I would have started with a younger character, but I certainly have no issue with him.

It is odd though having him at the helm of two major series of films.
