There is more to science fiction than just Star Trek or Star Wars. Sci-fi attracts a diverse group of people, and brings them to a fantastical world, one thankfully not inhabited by hobbits. With computers and technology becoming more prevalent in our lives, AltSciFi will take a look at the movies, television shows, and books that are trying to give us a glimpse of how things could be in the future.

Expect conflicting views, strong opinions, and the latest news surrounding all things sci-fi.

A Canadian professional blogger for nearly the last two years and a half years, I just can't get science fiction out of my brain. Having spent my whole youth watching Star Trek: The Next Generation and many other shows, I have always had a wild imagination. As a teenager, I put watching science fiction before keeping a girlfriend.

Currently, I write on a myriad of blogs for Splashpress Media and call DavidCubed.com my home. I am still a geek, and a huge scifi fan.

With AltSciFi, I hopes to pass on my passion for all things science fiction, and surround myself with likeminded people. There will be conversations about the best captain (we all know it was Sheridan from Babylon 5, no Trek captain even compares), as well as the latest shows, movies, news, and books to hit the sci-fi scene.
